On a sunny afternoon at the Stanley Turner Ground, Lewes Men's 1st XV began their new season's campaign with a comfortable friendly win over local rivals, Shoreham. The new faces in Lewes's pack of forwards, aided by some sparkling runs from their inventive backs, proved too strong for the otherwise combative West Sussex visitors.
This result, in front of a large, holiday-mood crowd , should give Lewes the confidence for when they embark upon their League campaign on 25th. September, away to Burgess Hill, k.o. 3.00pm.
