Brilliant minis festival

I love it when Lewes RFC hosts its own Minis Festival, it always feels like the sort of festival that we would like to go to - a simple format, running on time, friendly and fun!
- Ben Wright, Festival Organiser

With no senior games, Lewes Rugby Club hosted their annual Minis Festival on Sunday with children from 6 to 12 years old playing against their peers from East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, Heathfield and Uckfield. Extraordinarily there was a gap in the wet weather and the glorious sunshine enabled a lot of children and their parents to have great fun. The whole club contributes to the massive organisational effort needed with parents and coaches turning up from 6 am to set up the ground and fencing, erect signage, organise parking, sell programmes and tombola tickets, administer results, give first aid, referee and coach games. This Festival format continues to be a great way for celebrate the fun of playing rugby for young children and every player received a participation medal kindly sponsored by Intersport of Lewes.
