Four junior teams in action on Sunday

Lewes Colts were able to field a squad of 25 in a friendly against Hove but lost it at home 10-40. The first half was very even with two tries from captain and fly-half Sam Ticehurst and winger Toby Gibson-Young matched by two from Hove plus a conversion. However, in the second half, Lewes made eight changes and, although they had a similar percentage of possession, they lost forward momentum and mistakes led to a further four tries for Hove. Lewes' man-of-the-match was second row Dexter Vigar for his relentless work in attack and defence as well as his steady line-out jumping.

Meanwhile, in the other friendlies, the U16s lost 20-17 to Heathfield, with two tries from Alan Chumbley and one from Harry Hunter with Thomas Rourke converting one of them.

The U14s travelled to Horsham and lost 29-20. Coach Ben Green was full of praise for Horsham's fullback whom he felt was the main difference between the two sides. The U13s were beaten by Crowborough at home 20-25.
