Lewes Ladies II (17) vs Seaford Ladies (5)

The Ladies 2nd XV were met with a cold and blustery Seaford Rec. on Sunday, which set the scene for a tough, physical, and competitive meeting.
The visiting side had been beaten quite convincingly early in the season, although that was the very first game and it had been a baptism of fire for those players who had never played rugby before. What a transformation from the likes of Hana Miller and Clemmie Anderson who firmly earned their place on the pitch on Sunday, Miller sealing it with a try.

Lewes 2s, by nature, are often impaired by fluctuations in numbers. However, the side is starting to gain consistency and, under the leadership of captain Jade Walter, is coming into its own. With that, and off the back of last week's cup win and with a few fresh pairs of legs on the bench, Lewes started the game with more confidence and desire to win than their opposition. Seaford's determination was strong and they worked hard to turn over as many balls at they could. The low score was a testament to both teams' fierce defence. The many knocks-ons from both teams, not withstanding, Lewes's handling was better overall. The backs came together and allowed space for Caro Sugranes to put two tries under the posts, one of which was converted by Jade Walter.

A positive day for the Mighty Twos, and they look forward to taking on Blackheath II next week at home, KO 2pm.
