LEWES MAINTAIN LEAGUE POSITION

Lewes's "home" match against Sheppey had to be played at Brighton RFC, following Police advice in the light of the Lewes Bonfire Night celebrations.
In spite of having to play at a neutral venue, Lewes's fine form of recent weeks continued as they overwhelmed their visitors from Kent with a 50 - 28 bonus-point win which keeps them in equal-fourth spot in the League table. Scorers were

Tom Hatch
Nathan Lowen
Will Feltham x2
Abe Bredin
Will Tobin
Mike Stubbs

6 conv and 1 pen by Jon Pitts

Although scoring tries at will, and with new signings in both the forwards and backs, Lewes conceded several soft points, and Player-Coach Mike Stubbs hopes to stiffen up the defence in time for their next match, which is not now until 19th. November - a crunch away clash with near-neighbours and higher-placed Haywards Heath, k.o. 2.30pm.
