High-scoring vets' derby

As part of their 50th Anniversary Celebrations, Uckfield Vets hosted a combined Lewes/Newick Vets XV on Saturday.

In front of a large and vociferous crowd, the play - although understandably lacking in fitness and skill levels - more than made up for this with an entertaining, high-scoring match which saw Uckfield eventually run out winners by 44 - 20.

Lewes' tries were scored by Tom Petty (2), Dave Hemsley and Ed Pope.

On Saturday, Lewes 1sts make the long trip to Sheppey for a League encounter, ko 3.00 pm.
