Lewes U13s 45-Hastings & Bexhill U13s 25

Lewes Under 13s faced a very different Hastings side to the one that they beat at the beginning of the season. Hastings had some strong dynamic backs willing to run straight and hard, helped by Lewes boys falling off tackles meant Hasting took an early lead in the first couple of minutes. Testament to the jersey, heads were firmly kept up and Lewes came back to score moments later setting the pattern for the first half, trading tries with end-to-end rugby.

As the second half wore on Lewes' strength in the pack and willingness to move the ball wide started to be rewarded and with three unanswered tries and the game was out of sight for Hastings.

Coach Andrew Cridland concluded "Today was a real squad performance with every boy stepping up. As a coach, it is lovely to see the boys playing for each other and bonding as a team. As usual a special mention to the front three for dominating every scrum and even taking three against the head giving the backs the opportunity to counter-attack and score. Our backs looked comfortable with ball in hand, and when the ball gets to the wings they have the space and speed to finish the move with style."
