Lewes Ladies are through to the Final of the National Junior Cup after beating Yorkshire visitors Barnsley in the semi-final at the Stanley Turner Ground on Sunday. Lewes had to play in red shirts due to a clash of colours with the opposition.
In front of a massive crowd, the match was evenly balanced 5-5 at half-time, Lewes' solitary try being scored by Josie Nelder. But it was the hosts who clinched the Final place after a tough encounter when Josie also slotted over a drop-kick in the second-half to win the tie 8-5.
Lewes now play Reading Abbey in the Final at Royal Wootton Basset RFC on 1 April.
