Promising start to the Minis and Juniors season

Lewes Minis and Juniors teams are looking forward to an enjoyable 2019/2020 season, with new players joining the club at all age groups after several successful pre-season recruitment activities.

In June and July, Lewes RFC went on the road, delivering beach rugby sessions at Elderflower Fields Festival and running a stall at Southover CE Primary School.

In August, Racheal Burford provided the Lionesses with a masterclass in rugby for old and new players alike.  This was followed by a two-day Harlequins camp at the end of the month.  23 players from U6-U14 benefitted from some expert 'Quins coaching and had the opportunity to make friends across different age groups.  All players showed teamwork, respect and sportsmanship and showed the 'Quins what playing the Lewes way is all about.  Following the success of this camp, the Quins will be back during October Half Term, promising some contact training this time around for the older age groups.

On the 1st September, the Club hosted its first Minis Fun Day, with skills and touch rugby for all age groups, taster sessions for new players and a special Lewes Cubs session for the Under 5s.  Thanks to all the coaches and volunteers who helped out on the day.

Sections of the Minis and Juniors Team pages have been updated which has helped provide information to new and existing parents in the Lewes rugby family.

Juniors waterfall matches have already started and the Minis are off to their first Festival of the season on 6th October at Hastings.

The section is ably supported by a dedicated team of volunteer coaches and team managers, who are all DBS-checked and RFU accredited.
