After an iffy start to the season the Colts have now got into their groove and have won their last three games and have only suffered one defeat in their last seven.
The first half was an even contest with Lewes taking a 3-0 lead through a penalty but it was Crawley who opened the try count to lead 7-3. We had a match squad of 19 of which 13 were forwards and only 6 were backs due to injuries and non availability. So Cam was reluctantly recruited into the centres where he demonstrated his range of skills with a fine try and an even better swallow dive finish! Lewes scored again to lead 12-7 at the break.
In the second half Lewes exerted good control over the opposition and the dominance in the forwards began to create time and space for the backs and we scored 3 more quality tries to come out 32-7 winners.
It was a top notch performance with all 19 players contributing and a special mention must go to Giles who had a barnstormer!
A friendly away to Brighton awaits us next week followed by a cup quarter final against Horsham on the 9th Feb
